The Roots of Perspective

My fascination with leadership and culture began early.

I grew up surrounded by international perspectives — my father worked for the European Space Agency, and our circle of friends included families from across Europe, the Far East, the United States, and Australia.
Those formative years taught me that how people lead and follow is always shaped by the interplay between who they are and the cultural context they operate in.

That curiosity guided both my academic and professional life.
My PhD explored leadership, organisational culture, and meaning-making, focusing on how power, values, and identity intersect in complex environments.
The tension between a leader’s personal conviction and the systems around them still lies at the heart of my coaching.

Before I turned fully toward executive development, I co-created a Masterclass in Bio-Business — a programme that inspired my first book, Bio-business & Life Sciences (1998).
That experience confirmed how much innovation depends on people and culture as much as on ideas.

Over time, these experiences shaped what became The Hubler — a practice grounded in trust, curiosity, and movement.
The name was inspired by Ludovic Hubler, a French adventurer who hitchhiked around the world as an experiment in human connection. His journey reflected qualities I value — openness, courage, and presence — but the philosophy behind The Hubler goes further.

For me, leadership remains a profoundly human journey — not a fixed role or destination, but a continuous process of becoming more purposeful, authentic, and connected.

I’m grateful to walk part of that journey with so many of you.
